thedwarf.com.au Reviews “Breakfast is Ready”

“Australian hip hop Producer YBP (Young B) has just dropped his first album of 2010, in what will be a huge year for him.

In the past he has already produced various tracks for Naledge (from Kidz in the Hall), Random, James Klynn, DJ Speek Greene, BK Cyph and others. 2010 will see the release of numerous instrumental albums of all original music.

The first of these projects was released in March entitled Breakfast is Ready, which is the first of a three album series.

‘The Message’ starts the album off with a smooth warped guitar, met by deep kicking drums and an army of synth strings. It gives you the feeling of flying high above and looking down on a bright summer’s day.

The harmonic ‘Don’t Leave Me’ pieces together cut vocals and chimes, meshing raw snares and smooth vocals help tie this track together. This is a chilled follow up to ‘The Message’, bringing a sense of calm to the album.

‘The Haze’ gives you the feeling that you are lost in space in a time warped galaxy. The mixture of piano, sharp drums and flowing synths gives a real sense of trying to find your way out of a foggy and windy region.

The ambient ‘Touching the Sun’ is a great closer, reminding us that it is breakfast we are here for – time to start a new day, attributable to the combination of soft piano chords and heavy bass line.

As Young B says: “Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day, so I thought I’d help everyone out and whip something up. Breakfast Is Ready is the first of three meals I’ll be cooking up for this instrumental album series. The coolest part about this breakfast though; you can eat it any time of day you like!”

http://youngbproductions.com is still in development, but you can already hear the latest music Young B has been putting together and download all of his past albums and singles.”

Fresh Daily – VideoGamin (YBP Remix)

Posted by bryson On April - 29 - 2010

VideoGamin (YBP Remix)

A few months back, I made this beat for what I thought was going to be an original song for Fresh Daily about video games. Turns out it was simply an entry into a remix contest……..Anyway, now the contest is over and I didn’t win (SA Beats won), I thought I’d let loose my version.

I knew this song was about video games, so I tried to make it sounds as “retro, 8 bit, analog, etc” as possible. I’ve never really made a beat like this before, but it was fun to mess around with crazy weird sounds.

So download it and let me know what you think!

YBP x Jova = House Vs Rap

Posted by bryson On July - 17 - 2009

It’s finally here. This took us a lot longer to put together than we thought it would, but I think it came together real nice. Download the album and let us know what you think.

Download

We decided to put this project together because of the great response we got to the first track “Hustle Up To The Party Life”.

The formula for this album was pretty simple; Jova picked all the house songs, then I tried to find a rap song to remix it with. This album is real different to any other music I’ve ever made, as I didn’t produce any of these tracks from scratch, I just chopped, changed and remixed them with the rap lyrics.

We’re trying to get this heard by as many people as possible, so PLEASE pass this album onto anyone you think may like it. It’s all ready to be loaded into itunes for your ipod, ready to be burnt to a CD etc, and is really easy to download, so please help spread the word. If you know any DJs, please pass this to them to play

Thanks again for Reuben for creating another amazing cover. He’s pretty good at what he does to say the least.

youngbproductions.com is still in development, but you can already hear the latest music I’ve been putting together and download all of my past albums and singles. My myspace page is also still up and running and has everything you need there too.

Vol. 2 isn’t too far away…

Peace, Bryson & Jova

A Long Overdue Update

Posted by bryson On July - 14 - 2009

Just thought I’d update everyone on what I’ve got planned for the rest of 2009.

First, The House vs Rap album will most likely be out this week, and you’ll be able to download from right here.

Then I’m looking at finally releasing my version of “Lone Wolf” by Hilda in the Woods, soon to be followed by a complete EP of 4 YBP versions of their songs.

After that, I’m looking at working on an album called As Heard on TV where I’m going to sample the entire album from TV. I got the idea from Exile’s Radio album, and I look forward to get started on it.

Other than that, I’m gonna try and keep sending my beats to as many artists as possible and plan to put an album together.

So stay tuned for House vs Rap that will be out real soon

Welcome

Hey everyone. Just thought I’d share what music I’ve been working on lately and what I plan to be doing in the near future.

I’m slowly working on re-producing my mate Woody Band “Hilda in the Woods” album. It’s coming together real nice and I should have the single “Lone Wolf” done real soon. Hoping to have the whole album done by July, but I won’t make any promises.

I’ve also decided to make a mix cd of house and rap “mashes”. My mate Jova has got me to make 2 remixes for him previously, which he seemed to like, so I thought I’d throw together a little mixtape of a few of them. He will pick what house songs are used, and I’ll choose what rap songs to mash them with. Should come out sounding pretty cool. Again, will aim to have this out by July-August-September.

As for my own original music, I’m still making a bunch of beats, but have been mainly keeping them to myself lately. So if you’re an MC in need of some beats, let me know and I’ll send over a whole bunch.

I’m aiming to have a mixtape called “Job Application” out by the end of the year, which will essentially be my “best of” collection. I’m also aiming to have my first complete original album out sometime next year. It’ll combine both MC’s from USA and Australia, and hopefully some other places around the world. I’ve got the perfect title for it, but I don’t wanna let that out until “Job Application” is out.

As far as this website, it’s coming along slowly. A million thanks to Reuben Trusler for putting this all together for me. It’ll soon become the single place you can find anything and everything to do with my music.

So bare with us while we get it all up and running. It’ll definitely be worth the wait.
