“Australian hip hop Producer YBP (Young B) has just dropped his first album of 2010, in what will be a huge year for him.
In the past he has already produced various tracks for Naledge (from Kidz in the Hall), Random, James Klynn, DJ Speek Greene, BK Cyph and others. 2010 will see the release of numerous instrumental albums of all original music.
The first of these projects was released in March entitled Breakfast is Ready, which is the first of a three album series.
‘The Message’ starts the album off with a smooth warped guitar, met by deep kicking drums and an army of synth strings. It gives you the feeling of flying high above and looking down on a bright summer’s day.
The harmonic ‘Don’t Leave Me’ pieces together cut vocals and chimes, meshing raw snares and smooth vocals help tie this track together. This is a chilled follow up to ‘The Message’, bringing a sense of calm to the album.
‘The Haze’ gives you the feeling that you are lost in space in a time warped galaxy. The mixture of piano, sharp drums and flowing synths gives a real sense of trying to find your way out of a foggy and windy region.
The ambient ‘Touching the Sun’ is a great closer, reminding us that it is breakfast we are here for – time to start a new day, attributable to the combination of soft piano chords and heavy bass line.
As Young B says: “Breakfast is arguably the most important meal of the day, so I thought I’d help everyone out and whip something up. Breakfast Is Ready is the first of three meals I’ll be cooking up for this instrumental album series. The coolest part about this breakfast though; you can eat it any time of day you like!”
http://youngbproductions.com is still in development, but you can already hear the latest music Young B has been putting together and download all of his past albums and singles.”
